The class visited Pharmacy Plus in Carrollton this morning where pharmacist, Adam Weder, and SIUE pharmacy student, Skylar, spoke with the students about the pharmacy profession and the important role independent pharmacies play in rural communities.
Adam shared insights about running a local pharmacy, the responsibility that comes with caring for patients, and how building trust and relationships within the community is essential to the success of the business. Skylar also spoke about his experience as a pharmacy student and the path he is taking toward a career in healthcare.
The visit gave students a great look at how healthcare, customer service, and entrepreneurship come together in a locally owned business.
Thank you to Adam and Skylar for taking the time to share your knowledge and experiences with our class!
