About Me

Hello, my name is Maria Pena. I am a junior at Luverne Public High School. My favorite classes are math and science because they are interesting and can be challenging. During school I enjoy staying involved in activities such as wrestling management and choir, which allow me to build teamwork, leadership, and communication skills. 

Outside of school I like to do hot sculpt classes, watch Nebraska Volleyball, go shopping with my friends, and be educated. I also have a passion for healthcare. I am currently a Certified Nursing Assistant Sanford employee who is CPR certified. 

My plans after high school are to attend the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities to pursue my education in medicine. My overall goal is to become a trauma surgeon because I have a desire to help people. 

In addition to my passion for healthcare, I am also interested in entrepreneurship and business. I hope to explore real estate as a side business in my future. Through the SouthWest Minnesota CEO program, I hope to expand my knowledge, build meaningful connections, opportunities, and valuable experiences as a young professional.
