On Friday, August 14, 2026, the Daviess County CEO cohort visited Susan Ramsey Fitness and Bar None CrossFit and experienced much more than a business visit—they experienced a mission and a passion.
Susan Ramsey shared her inspiring journey from X-ray technician to certified Personal Trainer, Nutrition Coach, and successful business owner. What began as a personal hobby grew into a business launched from her basement in January 2017 with just two clients. Nine years later, Susan now serves more than 350 clients and has a team of instructors.
Susan emphasized that fitness is not simply a business for her—it is her mission to help people understand the importance of movement and nutrition for both mental and physical health. Couple quotes she lives by; “Move well + Eat well = Feel well.” and
“Movement is Medicine.”
She also stressed the importance of practicing what you preach. Susan doesn't just encourage her clients to live healthy lifestyles; she works to model that lifestyle every day.
Her story provided the students with an important lesson about entrepreneurship: start small, grow gradually, and be patient. She credits her husband, Clint, for encouraging her to take that initial leap of faith.
Susan also demonstrated the powerful role social media can play in marketing and growing a business. Through consistent communication, promotion, and engagement, she has been able to build her brand and strengthen her fitness community.
The visit concluded with a memorable 16-minute workout led by Susan. Her energy and enthusiasm showed the students that fitness is attainable for everyone, regardless of where they begin.
