On Tuesday, Johnson County CEO traveled to Vienna Automotive Center with guest speaker, Amanda Sullivan- CEO, CFO and NAPA of Vienna Automotive- to learn about the automotive center and how she runs things as the CEO.
Today, we took a tour of the automotive and learned how everything worked. We even got to hold a very expensive tablet that shows you what kind of car you’re working with!
Amanda shared with us the ups and downs of starting a business and keeping it moving. One example of the downs is since starting the business in 2014, their taxes have gone up 70%. A positive is that most of your employees are treated like, and treat you as family.
This visit gave me the opportunity to learn that starting a business isn’t just sunshine and rainbows. It comes with harsh weather as well. Even through the worst, you have to pick yourself up and dust yourself off to keep going. I also learned that it’s very important to choose wisely where your business is located in case of expansion. Lastly, keep yourself and your employees as safe as possible.
