Organization:  Founded in 2010, the Midland Institute for Entrepreneurship partners with communities throughout the United States to establish and maintain quality CEO programs.  Our vision is to be the standard for entrepreneurship education in the United States.  We do that by providing world class customer service, guidance and content to our CEO communities.

Job Title: Executive Director

Job Title Summary:

Midland Institute for Entrepreneurship is seeking an Executive Director to play a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s mission to cultivate entrepreneurial mindsets among high school students through the CEO (Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities) Program. This position demands strategic leadership, operational oversight, and community engagement to ensure the program’s success and sustainability. This is a full-time remote position with onsite visits required once a month for 3 to 4 days in Effingham, IL.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead fundraising efforts to ensure the organization has the financial resources to achieve its mission. This includes developing and executing fundraising strategies, cultivate relationships with donors, identify grant opportunities, and work closely with the CEO Board to meet annual fundraising goals.
  • Lead efforts to expand the CEO Program to new communities, fostering partnerships with local businesses and educational institutions.
  • Articulate and promote a clear vision for entrepreneurship education, adapting strategies to evolving educational and economic landscapes.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the CEO Program, ensuring consistency and quality across various locations.
  • Oversee a team of staff and volunteers, providing guidance and support to facilitators and regional cultivators.
  • Ensure efficient use of resources, including budgeting and financial management, to support program activities.
  • Cultivate relationships with business investors and donors to secure funding and resources for program sustainability.
  • Collaborate with schools and educators to integrate the CEO Program into curricula and promote student participation.
  • Serve as the public face of the Institute, representing the organization at events, conferences, and in the media.
  • Work with educational experts to continuously improve the CEO curriculum, incorporating feedback and best practices.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators to assess program effectiveness and impact.
  • Encourage the adoption of innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance student learning experiences.

Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of proven experience in a senior leadership role within an educational or nonprofit organization.
  • Experience in fundraising, donor relations, and securing sponsorships.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • A strong commitment to fostering entrepreneurial skills and mindsets among youth.
  • Strong Leadership skills and ability to lead teams.
