This is Richland County CEO member, Ayden Nealis. We have just completed the book, Things You Wish You Knew Yesterday, written by the architect of the CEO program, Craig Lindvahl. My favorite chapter in this book is titled “People Magnets.” I related to this chapter because a people magnet is what I strive to become everyday. It’s about becoming a person who generally only cares about others. Take a look at people you respect and admire in your life. They work hard, they’re outrageously generous, and they don’t expect anything in return. It’s a person that you want to strive to become. Life comes with meeting all kinds of different people. There are the ones who only focus on the negative, the one’s who only care about themselves, the ones that posses no enthusiasm, and those who refuse to see the big picture of things. The people magnet is the one who eliminates those narratives, and turns them into something powerful. They connect with others, encourage people, and bring energy into every room they walk into. Both this chapter will forever be stapled whenever I am in need of a refresher for how to go about life.
